Pollard Oak Sideboard by Lamb of Manchester.
Superb large late 19th.c sideboard by the acclaimed British cabinet makers Lamb of Manchester. Beautifully figured pollard oak veneers with ebonised detailing c.1880. A single long drawer to the centre above a large display recess, cupboards either side fitted with slides and shelves. Unusual applied detail to the door panels, clearly stamped by the manufacturer's on the left hand door. Excellent condition, restored and repolished in our workshops. Keys supplied.James Lamb was established as a cabinet maker in Manchester in 1843 and his firm quickly gained a reputation for the high quality workmanship and materials employed. Lamb supplied furniture for a wealthy clientele in Manchester and other prosperous towns in the North of England.
